Who Qualifies

If You Buy Material In Arkansas, Start Here

The simplest indicator: material invoices over $2,500. If you have those, the review is worth an hour of your attention and costs you nothing.

Quick check

You are worth reviewing if

You buy material on large invoices

Single purchases over $2,500 from lumber yards, supply houses, ready-mix plants, or distributors.

You work Arkansas projects

Residential or commercial, new construction or major renovation, anywhere in the state.

You buy from several suppliers

The more suppliers and active jobs, the easier it is for qualifying purchases to slip past unclaimed.

Nobody at your company owns this

If you cannot name the person responsible for rebate filings, they are not happening. That is the normal situation, not a failing.

The test is simpler than you think

A purchase qualifies when all three are true:

  • It is a business expense.
  • The pretax invoice is over $2,500.
  • Sales tax was charged on it.

That is the whole test, and it is broader than most contractors assume. We spend most of our time on building materials because that is where our clients' money goes — concrete in the footings, shingles on the roof, and everything in between. But it is not limited to materials. Equipment rental qualifies too, and so do plenty of other business purchases that clear $2,500.

We do need the actual invoice and proof of payment to claim it. Past that, if you paid sales tax on a business purchase over $2,500, it is worth putting in front of us — and if it does not qualify, you will hear that from us directly at no cost.

Worth knowing

You can claim back twelve months

Every month you wait, a month of qualifying purchases ages out of the window. That is the only reason to move on this quickly — not a sales deadline, just how the lookback period works.
